GEOL 120: Environmental Geology (Fall 2005) Humans are dependent on the physical environment. It provides the food which sustains us, the resources we require, and a habitable climate. As our population continues to expand, the interface between humans and the physical environment will become increasingly important. The purpose of this course is to examine geologic factors which underlie many of our environmental concerns, including: exposure to natural geologic hazards, consumption of resources, and disposal of our wastes. |
