Research Interests
I am interested in the geomorphic and climatic factors influencing flood frequency and magnitude in major rivers over a range of basin scales. I am investigating geomorphic factors that affect flood peak attenuation, including the hydraulic geometry of river channels and floodplains. I am also developing techniques to analyze complete hydrograph records for unique signatures of flood attenuation in geomorphically distinct river systems. My research goals are to utilize large hydrologic data sets in order to develop hydrologic classifications that would support informed flood risk analyses under changing climate and land use scenarios.
