Leucosome in stromatic migmatite is in petrographic continuity (microstructure, mineralogy and mode) with granite in the highly discordant, apparently cross cutting dyke. Le Petit Mont, Arzon, Morbihan, France.

Two distinctive permeability-porosity trends are found in Roane cores from the Mothra Hydrothermal vent field on the Endeavor Segment of the Juan de Fuca Mid-Ocean Ridge. Microstructural observations suggest that the difference in the two permeability-porosity relationships reflects different pore evolution processes: sealing of pores with angular sulfide grains results in a power law with an exponent of ~9, whereas sealing of pores by late stage amorphous silica results in a power law with an exponent of ~3.
