Research Interests
Numerical modeling of the subduction zone mantle wedge; the role of nominally-anhydrous minerals in the hydration of the wedge and initiation of melting; Geochemical modeling of slab inputs to the arc and back-arc with respect to the melting geometry within the wedge and associated mantle flow field; Evaluation of low-viscosity regions within the subduction zone wedge; Forward modeling of the transport of subduction-modified wedge material through the upper and lower mantle; Numerical modeling of ultraslow spreading ridges; the impact of ridge obliquity on melt focusing, crustal thickness, and lava chemistry.
