Research Interests
My research is examining the runoff generation and sediment sources in the North East Branch of the Anacostia River. I will be using a nested watershed approach to look at how sediment travels through North East Branch and its tributaries. I will be creating discharge rating curves and collecting water quality parameters (including specific conductance, turbidity, and temperature) at four locations in the watershed. I will also be calculating hydraulic geometry and gradients for the different locations during several different flow conditions. In order to look at the runoff sources for the watershed I will be using the hydrograph separation approach. Finally I will be collecting suspended sediment samples in order to look at how the sediment is traveling through the watershed.
