Research Interests
My research explores the coupled thermal and structural evolution of planetary magma oceans. Currently, I am modeling and numerically analyzing the evolution of the interior of Triton, Neptune's icy satellite, by examining the influence of orbital evolution, and thus tidal dissipation, on the crystallization of a subsurface cryomagma ocean within Triton. Ultimately, I will also model and analyze the evolution of an early terrestrial silicate magma ocean, incorporating lunar tidal influence. The results of this analysis may contribute to our knowledge of the formation of the Ultra Low Velocity Zone as a remnant melt layer of the early magma ocean. |
