Research Interests
My research consists of measuring the permeability and porosity of seafloor hydrothermal vent deposits from different vent fields and from varying stages in vent growth and development. I will use these data to establish permeability-porosity relationships that can provide insight into micro-structural changes in fluid pathways through the vents. With knowledge of these relationships and the deposits’ pore structure, I will model vent fluid flow, which directly influences environmental conditions present at hydrothermal vent fields. |
