Research Interests
My research interests consist of developing micro-analytical techniques and using them to measure trace element abundances in chondritic meteorites (chondrites) and their individual constituents. These rocks are accreted mixtures of protoplanetary disc material, the precursor to our solar system. The chondrites consist of primitive condensates of refractory minerals, rapidly crystallized melt spheres, and dust from the early Solar System. These studies will contribute further insights into the formation and evolution of the Solar System. In addition, the techniques developed will be useful for any research seeking to analyze limited amounts of sample via ICP-MS.
