Geological Field Camp References

The following is a quick guide to Geological Field Camp programs of which the University of Maryland's Department of Geology has some direct knowledge, mostly through their having been attended by UMD students or faculty. The department would typically accept these courses as the transfer credit equivalent of GEOL 490. This is NOT an exhaustive list of acceptable field camps. Students planning to attend field camp should first consult with the undergraduate director.

NOTE: Field camps typically require academic preparation in Structural Geology, Sedimentology, and Petrology.
