Field Trip 4-8-00: The American Museum of Natural History

museum We accomplished our visit to the American Museum of Natural History in New York, NY during what might properly be termed a "day-and-a-half trip, departing College Park at six in the morning and returning near midnight. We were compensated for this inconvenience by the opportunity to tour this world-class museum, focusing on two of its most outstanding exhibits: the new Rose Center for Earth and Space, and the museum's four halls of Vertebrate Evolution.

During the visit, students both studied the information in the exhibits and evaluated their effectiveness. As with our earlier trip to the National Museum of Natural History, items for consideration included:
