During the visit, students completed a short exercise aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the exhibits. Items for consideration included:
- The academic level at which information was pitched
- Whether information was arranged according to a clear organizing principle
- Whether methods of display, expecially interactive computer screens, enhanced or distracted from the exhibit's educational goals
- Whether other visitors to the museum seemed to be getting the information that the exhibits were trying to convey.
Our visit to the National Museum came on the heels of our New York trip and also gave students an opportunity to compare the displays in this museum with the American Museum of Natural History.
