Punta Suarez, our first stop on Española, was like Galápagos concentrate. We stepped off of the dingies and were immediately confronted by classic Galápagos wildlife, including mockingbirds, sally-lightfoot crabs, sea lions, and marine iguanas. Out came the cameras, and for about half an hour we wandered aimlessly, snapping pictures. Here, Merck gets familiar with marine iguanas.
