Chisos Mountains

Location: Barely northwest of Big Bend National Park, near Study Butte TX
Year: 1994
Merckslides catalogue number: 06-17151
Comments: The Chisos Mountains are a big Tertiary volcanic remnant smack in the middle of Big Bend National Park, and visible for miles around. In map view, they form a circle enclosing a basin - the "basin" for which most park visitors head. Oddly, I've never been there..
