Research Interests
I am interested in intraplate seismicity and seismic hazard assessment, particularly the quantifying the statistical likelihood of seismic events in the Central and Eastern US. Projects have included developing a method of analyzing periodic signatures in heterogeneous catalogs of seismicity with applications to increasing earthquake activity in Oklahoma and aftershock decay catalogs. Other work involved identifying and locating aftershocks of a moderate-sized earthquake in the Atlantic Coastal Plain near Dover, Delaware, with the goal of establishing a fault plane and understanding more about fault mechanisms in a low-activity region. I am testing hypotheses on what governs aftershock productivity for CEUS earthquakes and how that compares to other regions worldwide.
