Studies of Analytical Problems in EPMA

Plot of the position of the peak position of several platinum group and other elements to demonstrate that severe problems can be generated by performing analyses with inadequate peak and background positions.
Research Interests

Obtaining accurate and precise analyses of common rock forming minerals in addition to more exotic phases, often requires meticulous setup prior to analysis. Proper determination of analytical conditions requires a thorough understanding of the chemistry of the unknown and standards, in addition to an understanding of the stability of the phase.
