My current project focuses on incorporating experimentally determined melt topology into numerical models to calculate elastic moduli of the partially molten mantle rocks. The goal is to place better constraints on how seismic velocities vary as a function of melt fraction and melt distribution. These results will provide a critical link between seismic observations and various dynamic processes beneath ocean ridges.
