Heidi Myers

I am interested in applying geophysical concepts, instrumentation, and data analysis techniques with machine learning to humanitarian geophysics problems. With >110 million landmines and other unexploded ordnance (UXO) buried worldwide that cause 15,000-20,000 casualties each year, we are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis. My Ph.D. project is focused on building a prototype of a smart drone, whose mission is to use multiple geophysical sensor modalities and machine learning to identify landmines and UXO with speed and accuracy.
