My research investigates the temperature-fluid-mechanical coupling of deformation in carbonate rock. I am seeking to quantify the relationship that these properties have on rock deformation. Using a triaxial stress apparatus, I will compare the results of previous rock deformation experiments studying H₂O-rock interaction during deformation with CO₂-rock interaction during deformation.

This research has numerous applications, including in reservoir characterization and petroleum engineering (relating to fluid injection), as well as for CO₂ sequestration in limestone reservoirs.
