Terrestrial planets produce silicate crusts upon differentiation. The Earth, being a unique planet in the solar system, has developed a complex crust. I am investigating a series of topics ranging from mantle melting and generation of oceanic crust to constrain recycling of the materials from both the upper and lower continental crust, and how such processes are recorded in the geologic record.
